Ornamental October

Good morning, and welcome back!!  Today we will be finding out what happened in October 2021, 2022, and 2023.  So, sit back and come along for the ride.

OCTOBER 2021

Got the middle floor bathroom done.

You get very dirty when painting.

The downstairs bathroom.  I know, I know, it looks like the 70's called.  I thought the purples were going to be less in your face.  It's down stairs and out of the way so, I decided to just leave it the way it is.

My bedroom.  If I had had more time, and not been in such a rush to get it all done, I would have made the blending lines look better, but it is what it is.

One last trip to Lagoon for the season.

It was a Sunday afternoon and we had only been home from church for a couple of hours.  I was right in the middle of a lovely nap, when there was a knock on the door.

Our next door neighbor, who is a police officer, heard the crash with his well trained ears and came out to investigate.  This young mother had been driving down the road, when her little girl started fussing in the back seat.  She got distracted for just a split second and crashed right into the back of our car, which was legally parked on the side of the road.

The mother and her child, thankfully were okay.  Her car was totaled.  Our car had another owwie, but all it needed to make it drivable was a new tire and tail light.  That poor car though.  It was named the Vet after that incident, and not Vet like in Corvette, but Vet as in Veteran.  You see, that very same car, about two or three years previously, when we were living in Bountiful, had been legally parked on the road, when another driver who was not paying attention, rammed into the back of it.  That car takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I got all of the curio cabinet stuff unpacked and put away into my curio cabinets.

Curio cabinet number two.

I got my indoor rock collection all set up and looking nice.  Yes, I have an indoor and an outdoor rock collection.  The indoor collection is for all of my all time favorites.

Halloween party at Grandma Debbie's.

He's crawling with Sugar Gliders!

I got the storage room all organized and set up

I am pleased with how it turned out.

It's GAMEDAY!!

It was very cold!!

But WE WON!! We played the Virginia Cavaliers and beat them soundly at 66 to 49

A sketch that Jimmy drew of one of his baby pictures.

This is the picture he drew it from.  It was taken in January 2007.  He would have been about a year and a half years old.  I think he had just woke up and I was working on getting him his breakfast when I saw just how epic his bed head was.  He was just so stinking ADORABLE that I had to snap a picture.

That's all I had for October 2021, let us move into October 2022

OCTOBER 2022
Still got my little yard buddy, the neighbors hadn't stolen him yet.

I loved snuggling with them on the hammock.

I guess I am lucky now, I found an old horse shoe buried in the dirt.

Driving past the Layton Temple.

It's GAMEDAY!! Unfortunately we didn't win this game.

But we did get a fly-by.  I love a good fly-by

It's GAMEDAY again! Sadly, we didn't win this game either.

And it got downright cold at that game.

Cute little Sugar Gliders.

The annual Halloween parade at the elementary school.

He wanted to be a robot and so he designed and built his own costume.

Little did we know that this would be the last costume parade.

For the 2023-2024 school year, he moved to the gifted program, which means we have to drive him clear across Layton every day for school.  His new school doesn't do Halloween.....ANYTHING!

We are ready for Trick-or-Treater's to start arriving!

Jaina's costume.

She is a very talented artist.

There you have it for October 2022.  We shall now head into October 2023

OCTOBER 2023
Leche's kittens were growing up FAST!

In the waiting room, waiting to go back for surgery.

Remember when I mentioned that I had torn the meniscus in my right knee, but that I had to get an MRI done on it before we could do anything about?  But that I couldn't get an MRI because of my spinal cord stimulator?  And then earlier in 2023 I had my spinal cord stimulator removed for the sole purpose of being able to finally get the MRI done on my knee?  Well, I got the MRI done on my knee and it showed that I had torn up my meniscus pretty bad, so bad that it required a surgery.

So, at the BEGINNING of October, I had a surgery to fix my torn meniscus.  They decided to put ice on my knee after the surgery.  I have Raynauds, me and ice DO NOT get along.  They had to bundle me up in SEVERAL layers of their heated blankets just to get me warmed up and to stop shivering.

Cocoa kept me company while I was recovering from the surgery.

When I finally got mobile enough, I would go out to the garage and hang out with the kittens.

I got this awesome shot of the eclipse.  It looks like there's a ghost or something hanging out in front of the eclipse.

It's GAMEDAY!!  I completely and TOTALLY planned my surgery around the home football schedule so that I wouldn't have to miss out on any of the home games.  I did have to use crutches to get around, but that was okay.

We played the Texas Tech Raiders and beat them 27 to 14

The chickens.  We still hadn't managed to find anyone to take the rooster off of our hands.  We were coming to the realization that we would probably have to butcher him......

She is so stinking SNUGGLY!!  And I LOVE it!!

Adorable sleepy kittens.  This one was my favorite.  Because of my surgeries, we decided to keep this batch of kittens.  Especially since all of our other cats kept disappearing because of the neighbors.  We are down to two kittens now.  One of them, sadly, got hit by a car, and the other two, including this one just disappeared.  This one, Vanilla Bean, was the prettiest of them all.  I have noticed that the neighbors seem to take the prettiest and the friendlies of my kittens.

So, do you remember when I had my spinal cord stimulator removed and they did an MRI and in that MRI we discovered that I had some gallstones?  Yeah, they started to get horrible and I had an ultrasound done which reported that I had some pretty big stones hanging out in my gallbladder.  So, at the END of October I went in for my SECOND surgery in October and my FOURTH surgery of the year.  This is before surgery.

And after surgery.  I don't ever want to have four surgeries in one year, let alone two in one month!

Meow-meow went as a glow stick man for Halloween.  I know my room is messy, but I was laid up for the whole month of October and had my gallbladder removed the day before Halloween.

Well, that's a wrap for today.  Come back tomorrow for November 2021, 2022, and 2023.
