My new purple Oofas |
I have never liked wearing shoes. I would rather be barefoot than anything else. I can remember as a child, I would go wandering outside barefoot and get tons of stickers in my feet. I would come in crying and my mom would have to pull them out......and I'd go right back outside barefoot again. My mom would tell me that if I would wear shoes then I wouldn't get stickers in my feet. But I would rather get stickers in my feet than wear shoes. There's a bit that Bill Engvall does where he talks about a lizard.......
Bill Engvall The whole bit is funny but the part that relates starts at minute 5:50
I have never met a pair of shoes I liked, until I met Oofos. I have been getting my Oofos from the Walking Comfort store, but have since found their website:
OOFOS
|
My first pair of Oofos were the turquoise ones. The pink one's I wore out this past summer. |
Ever since my surgeries, my body doesn't work right and shoes even more uncomfortable than before. Finding a good pair of shoes is like finding a needle in a haystack or going on a fruitless quest to find the Holy Grail. That was until Oofos came into my life. Seriously, they are like walking on a cloud. With other shoes, walking long distances was akin to torture.....standing around in lines....shoot me now!! With my Oofos, I can walk long distances, and stand longer than I used to. They are the best shoe I have ever met. The only problems with the Oofos is that they only come in flip-flop or clog. They seriously need to make them into winter boots, if they did that, I would be in heaven. The other problem is that they do tend to wear out fast, I can usually get a pair to last about a year. I'm on my third pair of Oofos flip-flops. The walking comfort store only had the black clogs, so I was very excited to see that there are other colors on the official website, it made me happy. The flip-flops are by far my favorite though, it's the middle of November and I'm still wearing them.
Even though I have found a great pair of shoes, I still prefer to go barefoot. But today I am indeed thankful for and grateful for a comfortable pair of shoes.
