And we're back!! 2024 year in review. January 2024

Holy Cow!!  I cannot believe another whole year has gone by and it's time to do my year in review for 2024.  Didn't 2024 just start like yesterday or something?!?!?  But here we are and it is January 2, 2025 and I'm getting ready to tell ya'll about how 2024 went.  Hold onto something because 2024 was a wild ride.  So, without further ado, let's jump into the Davis Family 2024 year in review.

To start us out, lets talk about January 2024

We kicked off our year by celebrating our December birthday's.  I know, we celebrated them in January, but it was when we could do it.  I can't believe my Jaina turned 21!!!

We got lots of snow.

Grignard being adorable.  Grignard is one of my two outside barn cats, but sometimes we bring him in to snuggle with him.

Meow-meow was in a play at OPPA (On Pitch Performing Arts) here in Layton.  They performed Finding Nemo Jr.  More pictures to come from that.  I believe this picture is a tad bit out of order because it was taken right after we got home from his play.

I was trying to get started on planning out what seeds I wanted to plant and to get all of my notes made, but Whitley had other plans...

And so did Cocoa Bean.  I just love her little heart shaped nose.

One of the posters from the play.

He played a turtle, moonfish # 6, and a fish friend.

This is right after the play.  He did such an awesome job!!

I love that I can look out my bedroom window and see the Layton Temple!

One of the Sister Missionaries that Nathan served with came into town for a visit.  Yup, I married a giant.

The boys learned how to knit hats in Activity Days.  Surprisingly they all loved it.

We worried that it might happen because I have Scoliosis and Nathan had Kyphosis as a kid and we worried that he might get one or the other.  Sure enough, he has Kyphosis.  But between Scoliosis and Kyphosis, we're glad he got the Kyphosis, it can be corrected.

Correcting it does mean that he will have to wear a brace, and do a lot of traction and exercises.  But he was a trooper through it all.

I found 40 acres for sale in Vernon, Utah.

I want it so bad.

Just imagine all the things I could do on 40 acres.

All the rocks I could find!!

And the best part?  A 40 acre buffer between me and any neighbors that might move in!!  Don't get me wrong, I love all of my 9 neighbors that bump up to my property line, I just don't really care for some neighbors who live across the street from me.  They keep stealing my cats and then making trouble.

With his Kyphosis diagnosis, we took him in to a treatment of acupuncture.  He was a trooper for that too.

And then we also put him into Taekwondo.  He was so proud that he was able to break the board.

And once again I have a helper.  It's a good thing he's a cute helper.

Shots of Meow-meow in Finding Nemo Jr.

Doing a dance.

He had memorized the lines so well that when one of the kids got sick, he was able to step in and perform the roll of Squirt and he just rocked it!!

Back Stage before the play

And to be silly, we sometimes take screenshots of our weekly visits with Jimmy.

Speaking of Jimmy, he is doing great on his mission and will send me pictures when he writes his emails, so I thought I would share some of his photos with you.....

It's been fun watching him grow in his testimony.  A lot of mom's share their missionary's emails on Facebook, and I guess I've been slacking on that so, just for funsies I thought I could share his emails here because they are just awesome!!

From January 24th:
Hello everybody, it's been 1 whole transfer. Went by a little quick, but and the same time it took forever. The temperature is still perfect, I don't know why I keep bringing up the temperature but ido. Good bye elder Graham o7. It's been real, it's been fun, hasn't been real fun, just kidding it was real fun. I miss home and my family. I also miss my old job and my friends there too. It's tough coming out to no one you know, talking to random people who could have done some messed up stuff, and doing it in a nice shirt and tie. But I can't complain Because the blessings have been much greater. I hope everyone at home is doing fine. I am still breathing here, even tho it's hard with all the Marijuana. Also feel free to email me back too. Like I can read everyone's emails that's totally okay. It's how I can communicate. Nothing has changed minus the new companion elder Hammond. I've just been livin the life in God's country. Miss music still. As much as I like the tabernacle choir its not my favorite, I also don't like the youth music, and that's all we listen to out here. We hope to get our friend Fred baptismal soon, and aniya. Our teaching pool has change, as it does weekly. I probably will be loosing my car, making it so I'm on a bike.  So that'll be fun. Also I forgot to say, unless you read the church news you prolly don know that the mission is splitting, so i might get moved ro a new mission. Amyways Got some crazy black guy calling me a "cracka" that was fun, he had a gun aswell. Talked to some people who were searching for "the tablet, which apparently I have already found". Played poker with tootsie rolls and hershe kisses. Met a lamanite, he came to church, no one else did🫤. But hey I found 40 lost souls this week so that's nice. Big thanks to brother Jacobsen, 🙏,  for always coming out with us, even into the Hamptons. Anyways love you all, and email me back please, I got nothing to do on pdays. Also if there's anyone else who might want to read my emails, tell me who they are so I can add them. Alright lov you alls, haves much great days.

From January 30th:
Hello! Welcome to another week. It's been a shorter week because our pdays have changed more time than I change my close in a day. Which is quite a lot, especially on pdays. So far I have been good. Got a bike and now I am biking. Which is good for my legs and will make those transfer fly by. Speaking of this transfer. So far this transfer has been a W. I know this is gonna be a good transfer. Today's pday was much more fruitful than last. We actually played some pickle ball then had some fun card games with cookies. We also have 2 new missionaries I'm our district. Elder audd and sister houghi (chips ahoy). So we got them and me who just got out of training. So a pretty young district. Elder Timothy is our district leader, and Elder Hammond is my companion. He is soo cool. Super funny and has been out 22 months so he about to die. It's also officially summer time already, hitting 75 degrees. Not looking forward to summer. I hope you all are doing fine. Cause I sure am. I'm love you all and miss you all.

That's all I have for January 2024.  I didn't take a lot of pictures and I really need to get better at that.  Maybe that should be my New Year's Resolution..........
