February Fun

Good morning, and welcome back to round two of our Davis Family 2024 year in review!!  On this fine morning of January 3, 2025 we will be looking back on February 2024.  I'm sure there were lots of things that happened in February 2024, but I didn't take very many pictures of them.  What's really funny is that yesterday, at the end of my January post, I stated that I should make it my new years resolution to take more photos.  Well, I went back and read the last post I made which covered December 2021, 2022, and 2023, and at the end of it, I had basically said the same thing, that I needed to take more photos.  Maybe I should listen to myself because I didn't take a lot of photos this year either (with the exception of April and May, but we'll get to those later)

Anyway, enough of my rambling, lets talk about February 2024.....

Meow-meow had to go in for traction every day until he got his brace.  That made it challenging because Meow-meow tested into the gifted program and moved to a new school for the school year, and that school was located up next to Hill Airforce Base, and the doctors office was clear down in Sandy.  It made for some very long drives.  Once he got his brace, it got easier and we only had to go down once a week, but that was still a lot of taking him out of school and driving all over creation.

He greatly disliked the traction part of it all.  I don't blame him, because that looks highly uncomfortable.

Tiger Lily has a natural gift for wrestling and was on the Davis High School girls wrestling team.  This was her first year competing and she took 5th place in the state finals.  We are so proud of this girl!!

This is after winning one of her matches.

Nathan is aspiring to become an author.  He's written two books that he's self published.  They are awesome books, you should go read them.  My favorite is the Persian Asteroid.

He went to the Life the Universe and Everything convention and made some new author friends

Meow-meow got his torture devic.....I mean brace, his brace, he got his brace.

He's such a trooper.  Those braces are so uncomfortable.  I know, I speak from experience.

Side view.

I got a new mid-life crisis.  Say hi to Moby II

He's pretending to be "Bat-cat."  Such a serious look, and Cocoa Bean is eyeing him warily.  And yes, I know my room is messy!!  I was still trying to recover from all the surgeries I had the previous year, plus my blood pressure was all out of whack (we'll talk about that later as well.)

And more P-day facetime with Elder Davis.

Speaking about Elder Davis, here are some of the photos he sent me during the month of February

I guess cats want to hear the word of the Lord as well.

We got two emails from Elder Davis in February and here is what he had to say:

From February 13th he writes,

Hous it going everyone I hope all is well. This week was pretty straight forward. We found the secret to success with finding on bikes. We got some friends one Date ðŸ“…. We best be praying for them. Talked to this cool guy who who said he might die, ended up being a very level headed guy a few days later. His name is David. Got some girl scout cookies, they were good. My bike tire popped. So that sucks. I did do a wheelie for a little bit so that was maybe why my bike tire popped now that I think of it. It was worth it tho. Met a kid with a skateboard. Did some tricks but not to hard cause I was in dress shoes. Went on an exchange with elder audd. Who is newer than me, he's a stud. Been making a song on my guitar. Learned how to solve a rubix cube! (That one is to you grandma deem) elder Hammys bike got hit by a car. He was fine his bike was a little crooked. Did some service. Uhhhhh. I am still alive and kicking so no need to worry about me. Starting to love my area now. Played more pickle ball. Broke 3 shoe laces. Love it when the aglet gets stuck in the tie when you untie it, and then you think you best pull hard on it to fix it. Womp womp. Elder audd tried to eat a whole banan in one bite(he spat it out the window and the lady next to us prolly thinks we are weird now). Had zone conference, where the fire alarms went off during someones talk to us. We evacuated the building for like 10 minutes while we chilled and ate doritos. Then everything was good so we continued with zone conference. Fun stuff. Anyways here's some cool photos, hope you all enjoy the wonderful time and space god gives you. He lava you all. I miss you all greatly!

Alma 27:17-18 "17 Now the joy of Ammon was so great even that he was full; yea, he was swallowed up in the joy of his God, even to the exhausting of his strength; and he fell again to the earth. 18 Now was not this exceeding joy? Behold, this is joy which none receiveth save it be the truly penitent and humble seeker of happiness"

how can you seek to be a truly penitent and humble seeker of happiness?

From February 27th he writes:

Ey. What's up everyone. We been chilling out here in sin city. Nothing really new, my back tire broke ðŸ˜• which sucks but thus really cool maintenance guy at one of our apartment complex, gave us a bike that's in pretty good condition. In the mean time, I used a silly gold bike that had the entire arm and peddle fall off so that was fun. Other than that life is good. Drove some, biked some, walked some. We met some crazy peopleas usual. And we are about to have a baptismo. We had a person jump into the middle of the street with brother Swenson. Other than that we been chilling. The transfer is almost up already which is just so crazy. I hope I stay in Deseret inn. It's a sweet place to be. Hope all is well and that you all where ever you may be, are having God's love with ya.

Enos 1:4-6 "And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.
5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.
6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away.

How else can we fill our hungered souls?

That's it for February 2024.   2024 will get more exciting, I promise.
