"When suddenly and without warning, there was a total eclipse of the sun"

Alphabetically speaking, August 2017 is next up for the year in review.  August was a very busy and fun month for us.

With all of the fires that were running rampant, I was leaving scouts one evening and got some pictures of the sun.

Meow-meow was as busy and "helpful" as ever.

It's always so helpful when he gets into the cereal, takes it up to my bed, dumps it everywhere, and then falls asleep.

Then he decided that he would make dinner.
Question: What happens when Meow-meow gets a hold of your phone?  Answer:  Selfies of course!!

So, the day before school, I took the kids in for hair cuts.  Meow-Meow got a nice haircut.  The very next day, he found some scissors and gave himself another haircut......

Yeah, we had to shave his head.

Firebolt is growing up way too fast and turning into a beautiful young lady.  I'm going to have to beat the boys off with a stick.

We went camping up to the Uintah's then made the treck to Idaho for the eclipse.
 Spider Monkey being a monkey.

 Out rafting on the lake.

We had some friendly neighborhood chipmunks

The kids got to do some fishing and they all caught fish.

 We went on some hikes

Firebolt got her first ever bloody nose.  She was a bit freaked out by it.

After the Uintah's, we went to Rexburg, Idaho to see the solar eclipse.
We celebrated Spider Monkey's birthday.

 We fed some horses
And  best of all, we enjoyed watching 100% totality.

The traffic getting out of Idaho was a stand-still.  What should have been a 4 hour drive at regular freeway speeds ended up taking about 10 hours.  We took a really back road route home that had us spend most of the time on dirt roads.  It was quite the adventure.

I didn't get any awesome or epic eclipse pictures, but my friend Stephanie did.  I "borrowed" this picture from her.
We stopped at a rest stop to take a break from the stand-still traffic.  Naturally Spider Monkey found the nearest tree and climbed it.

We wore him out.

And of course the cats had to "help" me clean the Gimper (the name we gave our RV) when we got home.
Spider Monkey turned 12!!  I can't believe he's 12 now!!
He requested scones for his birthday dinner.

Then there was the first day of school.
Firebolt is in 9th, Lion Heart is in 8th, and Spider Monkey is in 7th.  My three jr highers!!

Firecracker is in 6th, and Tiger Lily is in 5th.

And YC (it's what Meow-meow calls him) is in 11th!! He's a JUNIOR!!  A JUNIOR with a drivers licence!!
Football season started.

I had some volunteer pumpkin plants come up.  They all came up at the same time, however some of them came up in the horse poop fertilizer and some didn't.  I'll leave it up to you to guess which is which.  LOL.

And last, but not least, are the cats

And that wraps up August 2017
