2016 year in review, post #1.

Well, it's that time of year again!!  I cannot believe I am doing my 2016 year in review already!!  I swear that someone pushed the hyperdrive button because 2016 blew by way too fast.  It seems like last year I did my year in review in chronological order, so to be different this year, I am going to do a random draw.

Drum Roll...
And the lucky month that gets to kick off our 2016 year in review is..................................

August 2016 was a very busy month for the Davis family.  August was hot, dry, and wonderful!!

I dyed my hair, again.

It was too dark for my tastes, so I lightened it...

This is what it ended up looking like.  I love the pink!!
Spider Monkey received his Arrow of Light and moved into the 11-year-old Scouts.

We went on a really fun family vacation to Colorado.  We went up the canyon and saw my grandparents old house, we visited a mine, we went to Casa Bonita, we visited the Denver Temple, saw Buffalo Bills grave, and played in the river behind our hotel.  It was our last hurrah before school started.

I got a Recumbent Bike!!  I can ride a bike again!!  I love it so much and had a great time going out for evening bike rides, I am looking forward to the weather getting warm enough to go riding again!!

Spider Monkey turned 11.

The kids all started another school year!

HIGH SCHOOL!!  HE'S IN HIGH SCHOOL NOW!!

He needed his picture taken just like his siblings.

Spaceman-Spiff got a Recumbent Bike through Shriner's Hospital.  He even got on the evening news!! It's so awesome to have a riding buddy.  We've had a lot of fun riding around our neighborhood on our fancy-pants bikes.

As much fun and jammed packed August was, it was also bittersweet.  Nathan's grandpa passed away and we laid him to rest.

My blog post just wouldn't be complete without mentioning my furry babies.  The cats were cute, cuddly, and playful as ever.

And apparently I am not allowed to try and fix bikes on my own.  Nathan was in Colorado working on his NASA project and the kids wanted to go out riding with me.  I know basic bike repair, I rode bikes my whole childhood, so I should still be able to do that, right???  WRONG!!  I attempted to get a bike down from a bike rack, when the hook holding it up came loose and........BAM!! I had a bike land right on my head.  It hurt just a "tad".........

Fixing bikes.

I had some very epic bruises.
And there you have it, August 2016 for the Davis Family.  I hope everyone had a wonderful 2016 and I hope that 2017 is full of fun and adventure.  Come back tomorrow to see what month get's picked next.
