After leaving Chichen Itza we took a short drive down the road to an 18th century Hacienda. They've turned the Hacienda into a hotel and restaurant. As part of our tour package, we stopped there for an authentic Mayan lunch, which was amazingly delicious by the way. We were treated a display of some traditional Mexican dances. I didn't get pictures of it, but took some videos. When we were given our beverage options they had a grape soda on the list. I asked what it was like and our tour guide said it was just like a grape soda that I would get at home. I like grape Fanta and figured, why not. We ordered Meow-meow a lemonade, and in hind sight, I wish I would have gone with the lemonade. That grape soda was the WORST tasting soda I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I ended up sharing with Meow-meow and it was one of the BEST lemonades I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Still so weird to see Christmas decorations in summer weather. |

After lunch we made the trek over to the Cenote Ik Kil. I was envisioning something more like the Cenote we went to on our other tour. I learned that no two Cenote's are the same. Where Tankach-Ha was all enclosed with only a small hole to get into, Ik Kil was just a huge hole in the ground. At Tankach-Ha there was only a small bathroom and changing area and small. Ik Kil had restaurants, gift shops, and was huge. We found out that they had recently had the Red Bull cliff diving challenge at Ik Kil. Ik Kil was so beautiful. I didn't venture into the water as it was way too cold for my liking, but I did put my feet in.
