We rented a ranch house on North Pole Loop, next to the ranch house is a big red barn. The guy who owns the ranch house and barn transformed the barn into an extra place to rent, but you rent it separate from the ranch house. The barn has two floors, the top floor being the area you can rent, we didn't rent it and therefore didn't have access to use it. The bottom level of the barn is where the owner and his wife live. Don,is his name and he restores Model T Fords. The front half of the lower level of the barn houses his Model T's. As a matter of fact, the day we were leaving, they were all getting ready for a Model T car show that would be arriving the next day. From what we gathered, the ranch house and barn annex is a very popular place to stay during the summer, Don is already pretty much booked for NEXT summer.
Monday afternoon, as we were all sitting around relaxing and trying to figure out what to do, Don came over and invited us to all take a tour, we got more than just a tour......we got to ride in one of his Model T's....a 1922 Model T.....with the hand crank to start the car and everything. Don also has a work shop, and the front of the workshop he painted to look like an old gas station, it even has an old gas pump. Don will take his Model T over and let people take pictures. We happened to be there when Don got a delivery of a Model T with a Mother-in-law seat. I didn't get pictures of that as it was still in the trailer. But I did get plenty of other pictures. There's even a video of us riding in the car, but I'll post that one to Facebook since I can't seem to get them to work on my blog.
While we were out having our ride in the Model T, a nice summer thunderstorm rolled in, and I got some neat pictures of that as well.
To wrap up our Monday, we had S'mores and toasted Starbursts around the campfire. Perfect ending to a perfect day.
