2014 Family Vacation to Bear Lake; Part 2: Bear Lake

On Saturday we had a leisure morning of pancakes and bacon.......real bacon.......not the kind of bacon you buy in your local grocery store......home raised bacon......the kind of bacon I grew up with.......the GOOD kind of bacon.   Don't get me wrong, all bacon is good and yummy and delicious, but there's just something about home raised bacon.  Stephanie and I put some good pork roast in the crock pot to have ready when we got home.....and again it was home raised pork roast.    Once the roast was on, we set out for our day at the lake

We rented a wave runner and had a blast on it.   We all decided that if we took it slow enough that even I could go for a ride on it without jarring my back too much.  It was SO much fun.  We all got covered in sand and a little bit sun kissed, but it was worth it.  I was amazed at how blue Bear Lake is....almost a Mediterranean blue.  The weather was perfect and the water was great.

After we left the lake we stopped off for Bear Lake shakes, yum.  Then we went back to Eschler Haven for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches.....heaven on a bun.

We relaxed the rest of the evening and just enjoyed the company.

Starting to bury him in the sand

I tried to upload a video of Space Man Spiff coming out of the sand but the video wouldn't upload.  As he was coming out of the sand he said, "The zombie apocalypse will ever happen if they have to go through this."  It was hilarious.  Maybe I'll try uploading the video to Facebook.
